Driving the #11 GAINER DIXCEL Mercedes SLS, Bjorn and his team mate Kazuyuki Hiranaka will form one of the strongest and most experienced driver lineups in the GT300 class.
“My priority for 2013 was to get back into a competitive car with a team and a team mate that would enable me to win races and challenge for the Championship.”
“GAINER has always been one of the best performers in Super GT and with what they proposed for the 2013 season there’s no doubt that together with my team mate Hiranaka we’ll have one of the strongest packages. Together we’ve got well over 12 years combined experience of this championship and the GAINER DIXCEL Mercedes SLS is already a proven winner internationally. It’s a new challenge and one I can’t wait to get started.”
“I know Kazuyuki well from Formula Nippon where we were team mates during my first year in Japan, but we go back further than that having raced for the same team in 2001. The team will receive good support from Mercedes and HWA who are responsible for the development of the SLS GT3. Testing will start already at the end of January so we will come well prepared for the first round in April.”
The 2013 Super GT series consists of 8 championship rounds plus one exhibition race in Korea scheduled in May and the season finale held at Fuji Speedway in November.
